  • July 18, 2026: Introduction to xEV and Safety  / Service Advisor Training.  Explain ASE Level 1 test.
  • August 22, 2026: LV and HV systems / Electrical Class / Test Equipment
  • October 3, 2026: HV Power Flow / Safe Down an xEV / Progression of xEV shutdown
  • October 31, 2026: ICE / LIVC / Otto Cycle / Preventive Maintenance
  • December 5, 2026: NiMH Battery Packs. Construction and Function (HEV stuff)
  • January 9, 2027: Li -ion Packs EVs. Construction and Function. Replacement of modules.
  • February 20, 2027: Transmissions. Understanding eCVT Toyota / Honda / Ford designs
  • March 20, 2027: Motors – Inverters. Testing drive motors. Theory of operation for Inverters
  • April 17, 2027: Regenerative Braking. Parts to show. 3 types of regen.
  • May 15, 2027: DC DC Converter / EPS. Testing the 12 volt charging system.
  • June 12, 2027: Grid Charging. What is an EVSE. Using the SEBOB (a break out box we designed and build) to find charging issues.
  • TBD: July 2027: HVAC Thermal Management. How to heat a cabin in an EV. How far have we come. Tesla Octo-valve Heat Pump and more. Wrap up session.  Q and A.

Cost

Cost is $5,000 for the full series, if paid in full upfront.  $480 per class if paid for one at a time.

Preparation

  • You will need a currently certified safety glove kit (class 0, rated to 1,000V) to participate in class.  If you already have one, please bring it with you.  Gloves will be available to borrow for the first few classes, but you will need to get your own set eventually.  These kits are available to purchase through ACDC.
  • If you are not very confident in your electrical skills, please let us know when you register.  We will provide you with some online training to complete before the class begins.  (Additional fees may apply.)
