Before “Wicked Smaht” starts, you will have been given HEV101, EC101 and webinars for the five HEV, PHEV and EV cars we will study. It is expected that you will study all of them before you come to class, That is about 18 hours of pre-study. The books will be given to you at class. This class is for experienced technicians that have a good understanding of modern systems and work in hybrids now. We have other classes for less experienced techs, teachers and out 8 day class (done over two weeks) that may be the one for you.

5 Day Wicked Smaht Hybrid Cahs Training at ACDC
Cost
$5,000 Includes meals, all handouts on an 10 gig jump drive, 3 ACDC EMV books , 5 or 6 night accommodation, over 30 hours of pre-training on the web and ACDC hospitality. A hotel at the airport for the last night is about $110. If you fly out after 9 pm the last day you will be fine, or spend the night at the hotel and fly the next day.

Travel day is getting to your Accommodation and getting ready for class in the morning.
Day 1 8:30 –5:30 pm
Day 1 8:30 –5:00 pm.
Meet at the training center at 8:30am. We start with safety training (get your HV gloves on), get to know the ACDC staff, and work on Honda HV battery packs. Lunch is catered each day. The first EMV we start with is Honda. Bring your personal scan tool (if you brought one with you) and scan the Hondas we have at ACDC. We will make sure you understand the IMA system.
Day 2 8:30 – 5:30 pm

Ford in the next make we will learn about. This will include understanding their eCVT. You will be asked questions along the way so please make sure have studied. We call this class “Wicked Smaht: because you need to be “Wicked Smaht: to follow along. This is fast passed, little theory is taught (but there is very important).

Prius II will be the subject. A great HEV and there are millions of this model worldwide. Many tricks and issues to perfect and lots to work on. They are getting old, but last for 400,000 plys miles. We will show you scan data, tips on testing the HV battery pack and more. Get answers to your questions.

Prius III was not as good as the second generation. Head gasket issues, brake wearing out, EGR coolers clogging, inverter problems and more. This Prius sold more than the Gen II, so lots of work to do. You will work on all these EMVs, drive them with scan tools, use equipment you may not have (some that ACDC builds and sells) and make sure you can service and repair this Prius.

Volt and Leaf. It is PHEV and EV day. These two vehicles have problems and we have solutions. You will drive and learn what you need to solve common problems on the Leaf, mostly HV battery issues and the Volt with HV battery issues, grid charging problems, cabin heating complaints and more. Wrap up session and done at 5pm.
