Wednesday 8 – 5:30 Classroom, Dinner @ 5:30pm. The ACDC trining center will allow you access to a lift, tools, equipment, scanners, (this is a well equipped shop) and give you time to carefully remove the HV battery packs, inverters, HV cables, DC-DC converters, and anything else that interests you. This day we make sure your 22 hours of pre-study was understood. We cover the theory part of hybrid technology. If you have any gaps in your educational background, ACDC will get you up to speed. You will be tested for your electrical knowledge on that night. If you fail the written test, after dinner you will get the codes for our Basic Electrical to study that night in your hotel room or as group in the training room.

Wednesday Night  7:00pm – 8:30pm If you need help in basic electrical, after dinner on there is a self-study electrical class. If you pass the test you have the night off.

Thursday: 8 – 5:30

Get up early, eat hearty and off we go to ACDC. Class is 8—5:30 with lunch and dinner catered so we can get down to business. Hybrids and EVs will be available to drive during and after class. You will be scanning out fleet. Craig Van Batenburg will lead the class. There are multiple rooms and a mobile class room as we break into teams of 4 and tear down battery packs, DC-DC Converters and Inverters. We have an amazing array of equipment and parts (many cut-aways and demos). We will go over anything that is required by any student so that you have a complete understanding of the subject matter. Scan tools will be used this day.

Friday 8AM—5:30PM

More classroom training but many hours hands-on working with the scan tools, 45 minute classes on subjects like: Regen brakes, DC-DC converters, EPS, CVT Transmissions from Ford, Toyota, both generations of the Volt. We will cover the Leaf and Level 1-2-3 charging. Each team will get an assignment for the weekend so they can present a “teachable moment” on Tuesday. Today is also tech tips and case studies. We will take an extended lunch and visit some local repair shops and dealerships that fix hybrids.

Saturday: 8AM—8PM

After breakfast we are off to ACDC.  The shop will allow you access to lifts, tools, equipment, scanners, (this is a well equipped shop) and give you time to carefully remove the HV battery packs, inverters, HV cables, DC-DC converters, and anything else that interests you. We will test them as we go. Groups of 4 techs will each have a car to learn on. The hybrid cars will be rotated to another team of four. Lunch and dinner will be catered by one of our best local caterers. This is a long day but it is well worth it.

This class is a lot like boot camp. It is total immersion.
